Excursion of the hydropower plant Gabčíkovo, getting to know our largest water structure on the river Danube and a diverse cultural program. All of that occurred during the traditional event Danube Day 2017 on Saturday, June 17, at the water structure Gabčíkovo. On the occasion of the International Danube Day, it was prepared by the state-owned companies Vodohospodárska výstavba and Slovenský vodohospodársky podnik along with other sectoral organizations of the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic and partners of the event. Its aim was to draw attention to protecting the river Danube as a symbol of the integration of the Danube countries, as well as the importance of the green energy produced by this water structure.
