VODOHOSPODÁRSKA VÝSTAVBA, ŠTÁTNY PODNIK (VV, š. p.), on Saturday, 11 May 2019 took part in Bratislava in the Enviro Day event organized by the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic. The program included the presentation of organizations working under the environmental department. Employees of VV, š. p., familiarized visitors both young and old, for example, with current European projects: “Innovation and modernization of the locks at the Gabčíkovo water works” and “DaReM – Rehabilitation measures on the Danube River” by means of a 3D video on the functioning of the hydroelectric power plant producing ecologically clean electricity, or talking about the enterprise’s water management and environmental activities.

“I consider environmental activities or obtaining information on how to behave ecologically in order to protect our environment as key in the raising and educating of young people and children. Here at our state enterprise I continuously try to make sure our colleagues are all aware of the need for protecting the environment in their daily work, so that they always do everything with the knowledge that the environment will be protected despite any necessary interventions. From the viewpoint of protecting the health of the environment for future generations, I at the same time consider it essential to take part actively in helping and protecting the environment, and I’m glad that our enterprise could today be a part of this pleasant environmental event full of valuable advice on the protection of nature, water, or flora and fauna,” said General Director of VV, š. p., Ing. Daniel Kvocera.

The main aim of the Enviro Day event was to provide education in the field of environmental protection, in the scope of which children learned, for example, how to correctly separate waste, became familiar with the animals living in our forests or could learn how to build a bird box or use compost. One part of the event was also the Open House at the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic.
